Calculate days between dates, hours & time differences
Enter your start and end dates in the "Between Dates" tab. The calculator instantly shows the difference in years, months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes. You can also see total hours, minutes, and seconds.
The basic formula is: Duration = End Time - Start Time. For dates, subtract the timestamps and convert to desired units. For hours: divide milliseconds by 3,600,000. For days: divide by 86,400,000.
Use the "Between Times" tab. Enter start and end times, and get the difference in hours, minutes, and decimal format. Check "next day" for overnight calculations (e.g., 10 PM to 6 AM).
Use the "Work Hours" tab. Enter your start time, end time, and lunch break duration in minutes. The calculator subtracts break time to show your actual work hours.
Use the "Time Ago" tab. Select any past date and time to see exactly how long ago it was in days, hours, and minutes. Great for tracking milestones or deadlines.
Yes! The calculator uses JavaScript's built-in Date object which automatically handles leap years, different month lengths, and daylight saving time transitions.
The current calculator shows calendar days. For business days (excluding weekends), you would need to manually subtract weekend days, or we may add this feature in a future update.
Calculations are accurate to the minute using standard time calculations. For years and months, we use calendar-based calculations (accounting for varying month lengths) rather than simple averages.
